Ralph C. Lucy was born on October 17, 1892 in Pullman, Whitman County, Washington. He was the son of Henry Lucy and Berthula Jane Davidson Lucy. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I in the 101st Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action on October 23, 1918 in battle of the Argonne in France at the age of 26 and is now buried in Mountain View Cemetery, Walla Walla, Walla Walla County, Washington, USA.
