Private Edward V. Rizicka, 26th Division, Co. D, 101 U.S. Infantry, was born near Pishelville, Neb., July 19, 1894. He was drafted on October 6, 1917 and sent to Camp Funston for training. From there to Camp Cody, New Mexico. After seven months, he was sent to Camp Merrrit. From this camp he departed for overseas. He died on November 11, 1918 in France at the age of 24 and is now buried in National Cemetery, Pishelville, Knox County, Nebraska, USA.
