George M. McJimsey was born on January 2, 1890 in Iowa. He registered at Kimball, Nebraska on June 5, 1917. he was called to service on September 21, 1917 and was sent to Camp Funston, Kansas. Later, was sent to Camp Cody, New Mexico, there was sent to Camp Merritt, N. J. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company D, 101st Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action on October 26, 1918 and is now buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France.
