When Leonard Burt Langille was born on October 24, 1895, in Plymouth, Massachusetts, his father, Simon, was 32 and his mother, Lucretia, was 20. He had one brother and one sister. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Sergeant in Company D, 101st Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died from his wounds received in Battle of the Argonne on November 28, 1918 in France at the age of 23 and is now buried in Vine Hills Cemetery, Plymouth, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, USA.
