Henry T. Johnquist entered the military service in Massachusetts. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private First Class in the 101st Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was declared "Missing in Action" on October 27, 1918 and is commemorated on Tablets of the Missing, Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France.
