Mendus Hart was born in 1894. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I in Company L, 101st Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died in 1918 and is now buried in Old Mission Cemetery, Upper Sandusky, Wyandot County, Ohio, USA.
