Vane W. Gandee was born in 1892. He was the son of William T. Gandee and Arvilla Decker Archer. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I in the 101st Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died in 1918 and is now buried in Sterling Cemetery, Sterling, Johnson County, Nebraska, USA.
