Lawrence J. Flaherty was born in 1882. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a First Lieutenant in Company H, 101st Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action on July 24, 1918 in Chateau, Thierry, France and is now buried in Holy Cross Cemetery and Mausoleum, Malden, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA.
