Joseph Dunbar born in 1893 in Doughabeg, Manorhamilton, Co Leitrim, Ireland. Heentered the military service in Massachusetts. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private First Class in the Company H, 101st Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on April 27, 1918 and is now buried in St. Mihiel American Cemetery, Thiaucourt, France. There is a memorial to this hero in Medford, Massachusetts, at the MBTA Fellsway bus garage, located on Salem Street, as he worked for the Boston Elevated Railway prior to the war.
