Timothy Michael Downey was born on November 16, 1894 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Timothy Downey and Ellen H. Hanley Downey. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Corporal in Company G, 101st Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action on October 18, 1918 at the age of 23 and is now buried in Mount Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, USA.
