When Arthur Ellsworth Doten was born on August 25, 1891, in Plymouth, Massachusetts, his father, George, was 36 and his mother, Ella, was 25. He had three brothers and four sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in the 101st Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action on October 26, 1918 at the age of 27 and is now buried in Vine Hills Cemetery, Plymouth, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, USA.
