Ralph E. Donnelly was born on November 4, 1891 in Worcester, Worcester County, Massachusetts. He was the son of John E. Donnelly Mary Ellen Corcoran Donnelly. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Captain in Company H, 101st Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He was Killed in Action on September 13, 1918 at the age of 26 in France and is now buried in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA. His name is commemorated on a plaque inside a church in Belleau, France and ranked as a First Lieutenant.
