When Percy Edwin Cobb was born on December 4, 1897, in Taunton, Massachusetts, his father, Charles, was 22 and his mother, Lillian, was 22. He had one brother and one sister. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in the 101st Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died from his wounds received in battle on June 14, 1918 in France and is now buried in Oakland Cemetery, Taunton, Bristol County, Massachusetts, USA.
