Robert Roland Bayard, Jr. was born on June 13, 1893. He was the son of Robert Roland Byard or Bayard and Eva Florence Wentworth Bayard. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company B, 101st Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on February 6, 1918 in France at the age of 24 and is now buried in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, USA.
