When Edwin Thomas Armstrong was born in April 1896 in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, England, his father, John, was 36 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 37. He had four brothers and four sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in the 101st Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division. He died on July 15, 1918 and is now buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA. His name is also listed on the monument in Depot Square in Clinton.
