Thomas W. Mason, aged 19, was born on December 31, 1924 in Pickens County, South Carolina. He was the son of Harrison Wilburn Mason and Edith Mae Pierson Mason. Thomas served in the 363rd Infantry, 91st Infantry Division as a Private during World War II. He died on September 18, 1944 during the battle in the area of Ponzalla in Italy and is now buried in the Mountain Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Pickens, Pickens County, South Carolina, USA.
