When Rexford Mason Glaspey and his twin brother Frank T. were born on November 9, 1889, in Greenwich, New Jersey, their father, William, was 40, and their mother, Ottilia, was 40. He married Mary Graber on December 24, 1914, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. They had one child during their marriage. He entered the military service in Pennsylvania and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Major in the Signal Corps. He was Killed in Action on November 5, 1918 in France at the age of 28 and is now buried in St. Mihiel American Cemetery, Thiaucourt, France. He also has a cenotaph located in Overlook Cemetery, Bridgeton, Cumberland County, New Jersey, USA.
