Lloyd D. Acker was born on May 17, 1895 in Weisenberg, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Acker. At the time he was drafted he was working on the farm of Benjamin Haas at Kuhnsville. He was a member of the Reformed congregation of Ziegel church. He left his city on September 19, 1917. After a period of training at Camp Meade, he departed for service overseas. When he left the shores of the United States, the soldier was a member of Company G., 316th Infantry. It was while they were moving to the front line trenches that he caught a cold and died of pneumonia a few days later. He is now buried in Ziegels Union Cemetery, Breinigsville, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, USA.
