Frank Reid Wonderly was born on January 16, 1897 in Windfall, Tipton County, Indiana. He was the son of William J. and Jennie C. Wonderly. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private First Class in the 1st Trench Mortar Battery, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on September 12, 1918 in France at the age of 21 and is now buried in Cimetière communal de Cheppy, Cheppy, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France.
