Paul H. Long was born on October 12, 1897 in Marshall, Parke County, Indiana. He was the son of Strand and Nola Long. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Sergeant in Company E, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on March 16, 1918 in France at the age of and was noted as buried in Mandres, France.
