Pinkney Franklin “Pink” Saxton was born on March 29, 1899 in Cleburne County, Arkansas. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company I, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died from his wounds received in battle on September 14, 1918 in France at the age of 29 and is now buried in Little Rock National Cemetery, Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, USA. His name is commemorated on the First Infantry Division monument in Vigneulles, France but his surname is inscribed as Sexton.
