When Louis W. Spacek was born in December 1896 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, his father, Louis, was 20 and his mother, Anna, was 18. He had one brother and one sister. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company L, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on February 14, 1918 and is now buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA.
