When William Weems "Billie" Allein was born on December 22, 1900, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, his father, Thomas, was 44 and his mother, Frances, was 38. He had four brothers. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in HQ Company, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 6, 1918 in France at the age of 17 and is now buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Vicksburg, Warren County, Mississippi, USA.
