Elmer Virgil Bunyard, aged 37, was born on September 11, 1907 in Jasper County, Iowa. He was the son of William Washington Bunyard and Angeline A. Barnard Bunyard. Elmer served in the 363rd Infantry, 91st Infantry Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He died on April 16, 1945 in the battle around the area of Ponzalla in Italy and is now buried in the Florence American Cemetery, Impruneta, Italy.
