When Herman Valentine Warner was born on February 14, 1892, his father, William, was 40 and his mother, Mary, was 32. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Machine Gun Company, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 9, 1918 at the age of 26 and is now buried in Saint Bernard Cemetery, Hastings, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, USA.
