Alfard J. Boyles, aged 20, was born on May 8, 1925 in Oklahoma. He was in his Senior year and was 18 when he entered the service on Aug 12, 1944 at Oklahoma City. He was trained at Camp Adair Ore, for about six months and went over seas. He first went to Africa then to Italy. Alfard was trained with the 70th Division, and was transferred to the 91st Division. He died on July 12, 1945 in the battle around the area of Ponzalla in Italy and is now buried in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Ada, Pontotoc County, Oklahoma, USA.
