Patrick Scahill was born on 1 Oct 1894 in Burriscarra, Ballyglass, Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo, Ireland. He served in the US Army during World War I as a Private in Company E, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was thought to have been taken prisoner of war but he was killed in action on July 18, 1918. His name is commemorated on the Buzancy monument in the MISSING IN ACTION section of the monument. Remains returned to Ireland in 1922 on the SS Millwater.
