When Carl C. Dunham was born on July 25, 1892, in Joplin, Missouri, his father, Sylvester, was 40 and his mother, Eva, was 25. He had one brother and two sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company A, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 23, 1918 (at the age of 27)and is now buried in Eastwood IOOF Cemetery, Medford, Jackson County, Oregon, USA. His name is commemorated on the Buzancy monument in the MISSING IN ACTION section of the monument.
