When South Mcintosh was born on November 6, 1896, his father, Fugate, was 31 and his mother, Sarah, was 22. He had one brother and four sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Sergeant in Company D, 1st Machine Gun Battalion, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 20, 1918 and is now buried in Strong Family Cemetery, Lost Creek, Breathitt County, Kentucky, USA. His headstone show that he's with the 2nd Machine Gun Battalion.
