When Victor G. Saragosa was born on March 5, 1921, in Mexico, his father, Santiago, was 29 and his mother, Maria, was 27. He enlisted in the Army on December 1, 1942 and served during World War II as a Private First Class in Company F, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. He died from his wounds received in battle on January 3, 1945 (at the age of 23) and is now buried in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Orange, Orange County, California, USA.
