When George A. Mundt was born on May 26, 1898, in New Hampshire, his father, Frederick, was 32 and his mother, Bertha, was 24. He had three brothers and three sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private First Class in Battery A, 7th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Division. He was Killed in Action on July 20, 1918 and is now buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, Seringes-et- Nesles, France. His name is inscribed on the Buzancy monument as a Private.
