William Earl Halley was born on February 16, 1894. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Corpor in Battery E, 5th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Division. He died from his wounds received in battle on July 22, 1918 (at the age of 24) in France and is now buried in Oakland Cemetery, Moberly, Randolph County, Missouri, USA.
