110th Infantry Regiment Monument

This monument is located at the far end of the parking lot directly off of Rue Principale, on the right side of the site. Monument


The monument is a large stone about 4 ft. (1.2m) high and 7 ft. (2.1m) across and bears the Keystone insignia of the 28th Infantry Division along with a plaque to the "I" Company of the 110th Infantry.
This monument commemorates the defense effort of the "I" Company, 110th Infantry Regiment, 28th Division in Weiler during the Battle of the Bulge. The defense put forth by the "I" Company and others hindered the German effort to split the allied forces in a surprise attack. The garrison at Weiler held until they ran out of ammunition and were forced to retreat to the village of Consthum.
