The monument includes a brass impression of the Congressional Medal of Honor, the inscription MEDAL OF HONOR above three brass plaques honoring 8th Infantry Division Medal of Honor recipients during World War II, and the inscription PATHFINDERS below the plaques. The 8th Infantry Division was also known by the designation Pathfinder Division during and after World War II.
