Commemorative Object

The Battle of Britain Roll of Honour commemorates 1,497 Allied pilots and aircrew who were killed or mortally wounded during the Battle of Britain, 10 July31 October 1940. Illustrated by Daisy Alcock and presented by Captain Bruce Ingram, the Roll includes personnel from Fighter, Bomber, and Coastal Commands, other RAF commands, and the Fleet Air Arm, representing numerous Allied nations, including one American. The memorial chapel was unveiled by King George VI on 10 July 1947.
