Museum

The Dunkeswell Heritage Centre preserves the history of Dunkeswell Airfield, which was built between 1942 and 1943 and served as the only U.S. Naval Air Base in Europe during World War II, supporting anti-submarine operations over the Bay of Biscay. The museum features an extensive collection of more than 400 wartime photographs, official films, uniforms, artifacts, and exhibits that tell the story of the American and British personnel who served at the airfield.
