Details:
On the west bank of Seine river.
MarkerA stone stele constructed of irregular limestone blocks set in mortar, topped with a pyramidal concrete cap and mounted on a simple concrete base. Affixed to the front is a marble plaque bearing a French inscription commemorating the crossing of the Seine River by the U.S. 5th Infantry Division of General George S. Patton's Third Army on August 23, 1944, during the Allied advance toward the Rhine.
