On the wall of the main Grandstand building.
PlaqueA rectangular bronze commemorative plaque with a slightly arched top. The upper section features the insignia of the 82nd Airborne Division (to which the 80th Airborne Anti-Aircraft Battalion was attached) in the top left corner, Airborne Parachutist Wings at the center, and crossed cannons with the number 80 above them in the top right corner. The plaque honors the 80th Airborne Anti-Aircraft Battalion of the U.S. Army, who were stationed at Leicester Racecourse during World War II. It also includes a dedication expressing friendship and goodwill between American soldiers and their British hosts. The plaque was unveiled on September 11, 1997.
