Englefield Green John F. Kennedy Monument
Details:
Monument
A slab stone monument honoring President John F. Kennedy's sacrifice, his dedication to liberty, and his commitment to global solidarity was created in memory of his assassination on November 22, 1963. The monument was established on an acre of land gifted by Queen Elizabeth II, who dedicated it on May 14, 1965. The site is maintained by the National Trust of the United Kingdom and was designed by Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe, who drew on The Pilgrim's Progress, John Bunyan's allegory of life as a journey, as inspiration for the design of the site.
