Monument
A stone monument featuring a rectangular black plaque honoring the U.S. Army Air Corps for their role in defending the Philippine Islands and contributing to their liberation between 1941 and 1945. The monument also displays the emblems of the 13th Air Force and the 5th Air Force.
The U.S. Army Air Corps defended the Philippines during the Japanese invasion in 1941, despite suffering heavy losses in the initial attacks. Later, during the liberation of the Philippines (1944–1945), air units like the Fifth and Thirteenth Air Forces provided essential support through bombing missions, reconnaissance, and close air support to the successful recapture of the island.
