Plaque
Two rectangular plaques commemorating the location as the initial headquarters for VII Corps, established under the leadership of General Joseph Lawton Collins on June 6, 1944. The plaques are written in English and French.
On June 6, 1944, the Utah Beach landings successfully secured a bridgehead by late morning, with communications and coordination. That evening, an advanced command post was established in Audouville-la-Hubert, where General Joseph Lawton Collins arrived the following day to direct further operations.
