Additionally, it expresses gratitude to the town for the receptions held in 1979 and during the 40th anniversary in 1984, commemorating these events.

Notre salut et nos meilleurs vœux,
À Monsieur le Maire et aux habitants de Saint Germain sur Sèves.
Les 22 et 23 juillet 1944, la 90ème Division d'Infanterie américaine a livré une terrible et sanglante bataille dans votre secteur contre le 6ème Régiment de parachutistes allemands.
Le 26 juillet 1944, les soldats de la 90ème Division ont libéré le secteur des Allemands.
Pendant les deux jours de cette bataille, les 22 et 23 juillet, la 90ème Division a subi les pertes suivantes :
