Monument

A stone slab monument with an engraved message honoring the soldiers of the 39th Infantry Regiment who liberated the town on June 14, 1944. The monument is written in French and was inaugurated on June 14, 2004, the 60th anniversary of the liberation. On June 13-14, the 22nd and 39th Infantry Regiments attacked Quinéville, with the 39th Infantry’s 3rd Battalion leading the assault. After artillery and air support, they breached German defenses leading to the town's liberation.
