Monument

A rough-hewn stone monument with a rectangular plaque in tribute to General George S. Patton Jr., who played a key role in the encirclement of German forces in the Roncey Pocket during the summer of 1944, as part of the Allied breakout from Normandy. His rapid, aggressive tactics helped trap and neutralize the enemy, significantly weakening German defenses in the region and aiding the liberation of France. The plaque is inscribed in English and French.
