General Walton Walker Marker - Korean War
Details:
Near the subway station along the roadway in the sidewalk. Near Exit 2 of the station. Marker
A short inscribed polish granite marble marker; about 3 feet high.
The marker remembers the location where General Walton Walker was killed in a car accident on December 23, 1950 while serving as the Commander of the 8th Army fighting the Korean War. General Walker had recently lead the fight at the Pusan (Busan) Perimeter and was a veteran of WW1 (5th Infantry Division) and WW2 (Commander of XX Corps). He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
