Monument

The monument consists of a large rectangular horizontal stele featuring granite panels and a large rectangular panel on top that includes a quote from Caroline Kennedy, who was the U.S. Ambassador to Japan at the time when the monument was erected. It is inscribed in English and Japanese. Caroline Kennedy's message encapsulates a profound and timeless call for individual action towards peace and goodwill. Japanese texts on the stele below this panel are messages from known dedicators.
