Plaque
Two commemorative plaques that are written in French commemorating the U.S. soldiers. The right plaque focuses on the 40th Engineer Combat Regiment and lists 3 names while the left plaque remembers the liberation of Vence and lists the names of the victims of the Nazis and mentions 4 American soldiers killed during the liberation.
The 40th Engineer Combat Regiment was attached to the 1st Airborne Task Force and to the 45th Infantry Division during the landings of Operation Anvil Dragoon.
