The memorial includes a state and a brass inscribed plaque.
The memorial remembers Jacob Vouza who fought with the 2nd Marine Raider Battalion of US Marine Corps during the Battle of Guadalcanal in 1942. The 2nd Marien Raider Battalion was commanded by Lt Col Evans Carlson.

America, Australia, New Zealand, and their allies thank the Solomon Islanders for their tremendous World War II effort. This statue honors all Solomon Islanders who fought along side us during the Solomon Island Battle from Guadalcanal to Bougainville.

His grateful American brothers awarded Sir Jacob the Silver Star and Legion of Merit.
