In the reception area. Turn left, and cross a lounge, the plaque is fixed on the left at the foot of a staircase leading to the upper floors near the bar.

A framed rectangular plaque commemorating Sgt Major Norman Prince. The plaque is written in French and English and also includes his photo on top of the Lafayette Escadrille insignia.

A la mémoire de Norma PRINCE, pilote et cofondateur de la prestigieuse Escadrille La Fayette, décéde le 15 octobre 1916 dans cet etablissement portant alors le nom d'Hôtel de la Poste, et qui était utilise comme hôpital militaire. Il est mort des suites de ses blessures subies lors d'un accident d'avion à l'atterrissage sur l'aerodrome militaire de Corcieux, au retour dune mission en territoire ennemi. Norman PRINCE, un citoyen américain alors âgé de 29 ans, était titulaire de quatre victoires aériennes.

In memory of Norman PRINCE, pilot and co-founder of the prestigious Lafayette Escadrille, who died on October 15, 1916, in this establishment, then called the Hotel de la Poste, which was used as a military hospital. He died of fatal injuries suffered in an airplane accident while landing at the Corcieux military aerodrome, on return from a mission in enemy territory. Norman PRINCE, an American citizen then 29 years old, had achieved four aerial victories.
