Tuskegee Airmen Monument - 332nd Fighter Group

Across the parking lot form the church. Monument
A concrete monument with a black etched plaque on the front along with the unit symbols. The sides are painted red remembering the nickname of the 332nd Fighter Group, the "Red Tails".
The monument remembers the 332nd Fighter Group, the famed "Tuskegee Airmen" also known as the "Red Tails" due to red tails on the aircraft.
The 332nd Fighter Group, consisting off the 99th, 100th, 301st and 302nd Fighter Squadrons was stationed at the nearby Ramitelli Airfield. The "Red Tails" an African-American unit flew missions supporting the 15th Air Force from May 1944 to May 1945.
The monument along with a mural of Benjamin O. Davis Jr, commander of the 332nd Fighter Group located in center Campomarino, were dedicated in July 2023.
